| Here is the clock unfinished, I still need to add the gingerbread on the top and bottom boxes, stain and finish the piece and install the clock. Sorry, all of the following pictures are of the pieces already stained. |

| Here is a picture of the top box with the corner gingerbread attached. I attached the corner pieces using my brad nailer and some 5/8 in. 18 gauge brads. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Here is a picture of the bottom box with the centered gingerbread medallion attached. I attached the badge using my brad nailer and some 5/8 in. 18 gauge brads. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Again, here is the clock face I picked out for my clocks are from Meisel Specialties-click here to order and type in 5711 in the Search Box. They have several styles to choose from, I'm sure they will have one for your needs. Installation is simple, as the back of the clock simply inserts into the hole previously drilled in the top box. It has a rubber retention ring around it that holds it in place. Just line it up so that it is straight up and down, put an AA battery in it and you're all set. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Here I am placing the crown on top of the clock and the picture on the right shows it after the crown is in place. Again the crown is detachable so you can set the time and change the battery in the clock. You could also access a light kit if your to put one in to shine down on any display items. |

| Here is the Grandfather Curio Clock finished, with the clock and shelves installed. I used Golden Oak Stain, 4 coats of wipe-on Minwax Polyurethane and a nice hand rubbing of Johnson Paste Wax to finish it. (This picture is of one the first 2 clocks I originally built, that is why the crown is different - I try to make each clock unique to itself and the crown is one of the easiest things to change for each clock) I hope you enjoyed this segment of How I Made It and that it might inspire you to try to build your own Grandfather Curio Clock |
